PARADISE PROJECT INFOR MATION CENTRE WELCOMES OVER 100,000 VISITORS IN FIRST YEAR

15 Dec 2005

The Paradise Project Information Centre has welcomed around 110,000 visitors since it opened at the end of November 2004 - an average of more than 300 people per day.

The Information Centre, which is on Lord Street, has been a popular destination for those wishing to examine the model of the 42-acre regeneration project, and keep abreast of progress on the construction programme.

The Centre houses display boards, images and DVD footage with information about the project, as well as artefacts from earlier archaeological investigations of the main development site.

“We’re delighted that there has been such a strong interest in the project and such a steady stream of visitors.  It seems as though the people of Liverpool are really engaged with the project and that is very satisfying.  Our visitor’s book reflects the views of a diverse range of interested individuals - and the majority of comments are positive,” said Hilary Kinsella, Information Centre Manager.

To coincide with the Centre’s first year anniversary, new display boards, updated images and a new DVD featuring computer-generated aerial footage of what Chavasse Park will look like when the project is completed, have been installed. Two webcams have also been installed at key vantage points overlooking the main development site.  Footage from these cameras is being relayed direct to a screen in the Information Centre.
