PARADISE PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED
26 Jul 2005
Three local photography students have been honoured for their entries in The Paradise Project photography competition organised jointly by Grosvenor and the Liverpool Community College.
Alison Chapman, Anne Marie Lindberg and Julie de Nylander, received the first, second and third prizes respectively for their work inspired by Liverpool’s £900m, 42.5-acre regeneration project.
Competition judges Nicola Beausire, project marketing manager for Grosvenor’, and David Hughes of city-centre photographic suppliers Keyphoto, were impressed by the quality and creativity of the work produced. “The standard of entries was extremely high and the selection of winners was a very close call. However, the overall winner produced something extra special that stood out from the others,” said Nicola Beausire.
The three winners each receive vouchers of between £100 and £500 for photographic equipment and materials from Keyphoto. Their winning images will be displayed in The Paradise Project Information Centre, Lord Street.
The aim of the competition - which was launched in May - is to challenge the College’s photography students to capture creative images of the Paradise Project as it unfolds. The competition will run for three years and conclude with the completion of the project in 2008.
