LIVERPOOL ONE'S RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ONE PARK WEST GOES ON SALE
20 Feb 2007
Grosvenor has announced the name and launch date of One Park West, the biggest residential building in Liverpool One, the city centre redevelopment project currently being delivered by the Paradise Project.
The 326-apartment building on Strand Street will be called One Park West, reflecting the building’s prime position to the west of a brand new 5 acre park. One Park West will form the jewel-in-the-crown of Grosvenor’s residential offer in the massive £920m, 42-acre development linking the Albert Dock, the retail heart and the historic Ropewalks area.
The building comprises one, two and three bedroom high specification apartments with secure car parking and 24 hour concierge service. Rising from three cores, One Park West will climb to 17 storeys from a base of restaurants and offices, its dramatic raking corner feature marking the gateway to the city from the historic waterfront. One Park West will be the tallest structure in Liverpool One.
American architect Cesar Pelli, best known for designing the soaring Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, has designed an intricate, iconic, curved and glazed building which is responsive to both its site and sympathetic to its position amongst Liverpool’s famous waterfront buildings. The Pelli team which has worked with Grosvenor from the outset on the Paradise Project masterplan, has designed One Park West in partnership with local, Liverpool based architects Brock Carmichael Associates.
The building will offer outstanding views of the River Mersey to one side and will have as its neighbours across the Park the 4 star Hilton Hotel, a new John Lewis, a new Debenhams and a 14-screen Odeon cinema, along with a host of restaurants and bars.
One Park West is being launched on Thursday 22nd February at Tate Liverpool, supported by champagne house Laurent Perrier, where investors, VIP’s and invited guests from the UK’s property world will receive an exclusive glimpse of the development, ahead of the sales release the morning after at King Sturge offices on Castle Street at 10am.
One Park West will be released in phases and is expected to complete early 2009. Liverpool One heralds a major transformation of the city’s retail, leisure and residential offer both for the people of Liverpool and visitors to the city, as its reign as Capital of Culture 2008 rapidly approaches.
