Proposals to change the Liverpool street network will be on display at the town hall from Tuesday.

The proposals are part of the city centre movement strategy, a 73m scheme by partners Liverpool city council, Merseytravel and Liverpool Vision to improve access around the city centre.

The scheme being unveiled next week will allow buses and taxis to drop passengers off safely on the opposite side of the development to the Paradise Street interchange to provide access to all the new shops and facilities.

The proposals are to reverse the direction of traffic on North John Street between Dale Street and Victoria Street, so traffic will run towards Victoria Street, and two way on the section between Victoria Street and Lord Street, and on Lord Street itself between North John Street and Derby Square.

Traffic on Stanley Street will also change direction to run towards Dale Street and Cumberland Street will change direction with traffic running towards Victoria Street.

Busstops will be in Lord Street and taxi ranking in North John Street, with improved bus facilities outside James Street station as part of a separate Merseytravel scheme. Liverpool Echo
