We are working together says senior officer

LAST night, Merseyside Police Assistant Chief Constable Simon Byrne said the claims by the anonymous source are completely untrue.
“Merseyside Police and Grosvenor are working together on the policing and security plans for the Liverpool One development. Both organisations recognise the benefit of working closely on these issues. Talks are under way regarding the funding of additional officers and until these talks are concluded it would be inappropriate to discuss this further.’’
ACC Byrne added: “Liverpool One presents similar policing challenges to any large-scale development but to describe these as a ‘nightmare’ is irresponsible and incorrect.
“The force enjoys a close and co-operative working arrangement with Grosvenor. Our discussions include policing style, officers, where we will work from and other security arrangements. These talks are taking place at a senior and frontline level.”
